Empower Your Entrance (EYE) A unique Intercultural Training Program for expats in the Netherlands

This training helps expats to optimise their functioning while posted in the Netherlands. It focuses on the following aspects:

• How to do business with the Dutch?
• How to understand their culture?
• How to handle practical issues such finding appropriate housing, a school for the children and nice areas to do the shopping?

For whom?
‘EYE’ is an intercultural training program for expats who come to live and work in the Netherlands for a certain period of time. This training is suitable mainly for individuals but is also suitable for entire families. If his/her family is not happy, it is very difficult for the expat to focus on the job, which will lead to a decline of the quality of work. The programme can be adapted to children on demand.

Program
‘EYE’ has an educational yet easy starting point. As soon as participants register, they receive a brochure in the mail. This brochure helps to give some first impressions about the Netherlands, its culture and the program which Q4Q offers. The training is split up in two different subjects, a theoretical part and a practical part. In the introduction evening, we look at theoretical aspects, such as Doing business with the Dutch, Dutch Culture and Expat experiences. The training is given by professionals, who have experience with intercultural communication and experience with the Dutch culture. Of course there is time for asking questions and sharing experiences with each other.
After this theoretical introduction, it is time to explore the big world of the cloggy. Just talking about the Netherlands is not enough to create a full image of the Dutch way of life. Therefore, a day in the field is organized where several interesting locations in and around Amsterdam are visited. This will not be the typical tourist excursion, but exclusive activities which participants actually enjoy and find interesting. ‘EYE’ can be described as different, original and innovative. Trainers
The entire course will be conducted by Dutch people who all have affinity with intercultural communication and with their own culture. In this way, we are able to provide a very complete image of the Dutch society. The introduction evening will be given by professionals who are aware of the situation the expats are in. They will listen to the participants and will tell them varies of things about the Dutch Culture and their own experience. A direct interaction between the Dutch and the expats is being accomplished already at this first night.
